The executive vice-mayor of Guiyang city, Xu Hao, has urged Baiyun district to seek investment for its Fanhuali pedestrian mall, in an effort to develop the district into a high-quality, high-level business area in the city in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The government official put forward his requirements for Baiyun when he led a delegation on a field investigation to Fanhuali Oct 10, accompanied by other officials from the city government, including Liu Yu, a researcher at Guiyang bureau of commerce.

As the leader of a working team for the development of provincial pedestrian malls in Baiyun, Xu had detailed knowledge of Fanhuali's development plan and efforts to attract investment.

He also listened to reports from Baiyun district government officials and representatives of Fanhuali Business Management Company, on the construction of business areas and pedestrian malls, problems being encountered and next-step plans.

In fall, Guiyang issued an action plan to revitalize commerce and trade through setting up 100 consumer places, 1,000 stores and 10,000 shops, which means that five business areas and 11 pedestrian malls are expected to spring up across the city.

Xu suggested Baiyun put the action plan into practice and make a reasonable layout for business areas based on Baiyun's business plan and positioning. Work on investment attraction for Fanhuali should also be strengthened, Xu added.
