Hit by the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is pushing hard to defeat the epidemic prevention and control and resume production.
As of Feb 18, a total of 45 industrial enterprises above designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.85 million) – had returned to full production, according to local officials.
Businesses have been given complete guidance on formulating emergency plans for epidemic prevention and control, and application of work and production resumption on the Guiyang Enterprise Work and Production Resumption Platform.
Enterprises are also strictly required to conduct epidemic prevention work and provide health declarations for returning personnel.
As of Feb 18, a total of 71 enterprises had completed the registration for 1,469 employees coming from places outside Guiyang. All employees had reported no symptoms of fever, fatigue or coughing.
To reduce the risk of cross-contact and infection, the enterprises are also required to prepare virus prevention and control materials such as infrared temperature detectors, disinfectants, medical alcohol and medical masks.
Regular body temperature checks and disinfection of the factory areas, employee dormitories and canteens are also conducted.
In addition, the businesses are also arranging for their employees to dine at different intervals and cut meetings and group activities to reduce staff member gatherings.
