The Baiyun bureau of ecology and environment in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently conducted an inspection of medical waste management in a bid to reduce pollution and protect public health.

An inspection team of 20 law enforcement officials was formed to supervise the classification, collection, transfer and storage of medical waste within Baiyun, which covers eight hospitals such as Huikang Hospital and Guiyang Changfeng Linghang Hospital.

In addition, if any of the medical institutions' standing books were wrong or sign plates appeared unclear, strict rectification and reformation were required to be implemented immediately during the on-spot inspection.

Baiyun will continue to strengthen the daily supervision of medical waste management in the future.
