According to local media reports, Baiyun district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently put into use of its veteran service center.
The district has continuously improved the service level for veterans, establishing the district-level veteran service center in October 2020 with an investment of 120,000 yuan ($18,576).
The service center was put into use in January and covers an area of roughly 240 square meters. It has a reception hall, a legal aid room, a service reception room, a veteran honor room and a veteran activity room.
Four windows are set up in the reception hall to provide services such as collecting veterans' information, preferential treatment and placement for veterans, policy consultation, and employment and entrepreneurship services for veterans.
In the past year, Baiyun district carried out the standardization of service stations for veterans. As of now, 10 townships (towns, sub-districts) and 97 villages have established service centers (stations) for veterans, launching 16 related work systems and setting up 11 volunteer groups.
