In Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Baiyun district's education system conducted nucleic acid testing for faculty from Feb 19 to 20, in preparation for the beginning of the spring semester.
A leading group for nucleic acid testing was set up to organize, coordinate and guide the process, with the director of Baiyun district's education bureau serving as the group's leader.
The Affiliated Baiyun Hospital of Guizhou Medical University and Baiyun district's hospital carried out the sampling activity at the district's No 1 Senior High School and Nanhu Experimental Middle School. It was guided and supported by the district's pandemic prevention and control leading group.
A total of 6,145 faculty members from 175 schools in the district and staff members from the education bureau took part in the testing campaign, and all of their results came back negative. Those who missed the mass testing must get tested before returning to school and report their results.
