Baiyun district attracts investment of 3.14b yuan in Q1

Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, attracted in-place investment of 3.14 billion yuan ($491.10 million) in the first quarter of 2021, accounting for 103 percent of the annual target, according to local media reports.

Since the start of the year, Baiyun has reportedly prioritized industry investment and during the period the district has introduced 12 industrial projects and four companies, which based operations there.

The district particularly focused on attracting the lithium battery, beverage and food, engines and support industries. It also aimed at bringing in the aluminum and aluminum deep processing industries. The overall strategy is to attract upstream and downstream enterprises to form industrial clusters.

In addition, the district has been streamlining its business environment and as a result some 1,044 government affairs service items can now be handled online, offering greater convenience.

Moving forwards, the district plans to increase its appeal to attract more investment through various initiatives and continue to optimize its business ecosystem, to provide better services for resident companies.
