Baiyun district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- held activities at the Affiliated Baiyun Hospital of Guizhou Medical University on June 7, to mark the 26th National Eye Caring Day in China, which fell on the previous day.
Hosted by the district's bureau of health and center for disease control and prevention, activities included offering free examinations and the handing out of promotional materials.
Examinations included specialist lamp examinations, fundus examinations and vision screenings for past patients and their families.
Staff members also talked about the prevention and control of myopia, cataracts and other eye diseases, to enhance the general public's awareness of eye care and protection and to encourage a more healthy lifestyle.
A total of 30 people received free examinations and more than 60 leaflets were given out.
