The first phase of renovation on Yunfeng Avenue in Baiyun district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently completed.
Yunfeng Avenue stretches from the intersection of Jinhu Road and Jinyang North Road to the intersection of Baiyun Middle Road and Tongxin West Road. The total length of the road is 2.1 kilometers. It is the main road in Baiyun district.
According to the person in charge of the project management department of the Baiyun City Maintenance Company, due to the construction of the metro line, more than 60 percent of the pavement and roadbeds of Yunfeng Avenue are cracked, making it uneven and prone to puddles.
The previous pedestrian passage was located at the main entrance of the Southwest Furniture City, which was unsafe due to car and pedestrian traffic being intermixed.
The deformation of the curb on the road and the peeling of the surface layer became severe and were a major eyesore.
Baiyun district officially began renovating Yunfeng Avenue on May 25. The project mainly involves asphalt pavement upgrading and renovation, guardrail replacement, sidewalk overpass and sidewalk renovation, and curb replacement.
Meanwhile, the previous pedestrian crossing was moved 110 meters south, and the height of the sidewalk crossing bridge was reduced to 18 cm, reducing safety risks at the parking lot exit and relieving traffic pressure.
