A series of activities to mark the fourth Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival was held in Shilong village in Baiyun district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 23.
The activities, including performances, fruit picking, agricultural exhibitions and sales, and the promotion of laws and regulations, were attended by 200 local residents and tourists.
They aimed to showcase Baiyun's achievements made in agricultural industry revolution and the new look and image of Baiyun's countryside.
In recent years, Baiyun has been making consistent efforts to implement a countryside revitalization strategy and promote agricultural structure adjustment, increasing the efficiency of agriculture and incomes of farmers, and beautifying rural areas.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), Baiyun established one edible fungus industry demonstration park and 21 edible fungus bases with a total edible fungus growing area of 17,700 mu (1,180 hectares) and a vegetable growing area of 248,700 mu.
The per capita disposable income of rural residents in Baiyun district remains at the forefront of Guizhou province.
