Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has begun offering COVID-19 booster shots to people amid rising evidence of the effectiveness of an additional dose to improve immunity.

The move was officially made on Oct 12.

Booster shot receivers are people over 18 who were originally vaccinated with a one-dose adenovirus novel coronavirus vaccine or two-dose inactivated virus novel coronavirus vaccine more than six months ago.
