Rural toilet revolution benefits Baiyun residents

The so-called "rural toilet revolution" has been put high on the agenda in Baiyun district – administered by Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – reportedly in order to make the countryside much more livable.

Since 2018, Baiyun has invested 6.37 million yuan ($955,738) in the construction of 32 new public toilets, while renovating or installing 1,585 sanitary toilets in households in its rural areas.

Currently, the district has reportedly achieved full coverage of public toilets in its administrative villages, with the coverage rate of sanitary toilets in its rural households reaching 95.8 percent.

Through the standardization of its rural toilet construction and standardization of its management, conditions in Baiyun district are understood to have really improved – helping to boost people's lives.
