The Baiyun Transportation Industry Union was established in the Baiyun district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- on Dec 12.

The establishment of the union reportedly aims to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of new employment groups such as truck drivers -- and to promote the healthy, stable, high-quality and sustainable development of local industry.

At a nameplate unveiling ceremony held the same day, around 30 truck drivers were given gifts such as thermos cups and towels from the union.
