The cultural gallery in the Baiyun district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently received approval to be designated as a first-class cultural gallery at the national level.
The achievement is regarded as being a high one, given that the national cultural gallery evaluation and grading assessment is held every four years.
It is regarded as being an important working mechanism to measure the construction, management and service level of regional cultural galleries. It is seen as having a positive role in promoting the standardized management of cultural galleries and improving the quality of public cultural services.
The Baiyun Cultural Gallery reportedly obtained the honor in recognition of its continuous efforts in innovating and increasing cultural services in various spheres.
In 2021, the gallery initiated the Baiyun Weekend Stage event. This has developed from a simple theatrical performance to be a comprehensive platform that showcases the achievements of the district.
Last year, the event was rated as an excellent mass cultural brand in Guizhou province by the Guizhou Provincial Cultural Center.
In recent years, the gallery has staged the dance work "The Pepper Secretary", the song work "A Hundred Years of Grace", the chorus work "Pomegranate Flower in July" and the recitation work "Wind and White Clouds".
A theme painting exhibition of the "Children's Heart to the Party" and the photographic works tour exhibition for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China were also held.
