The Baiyun district in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – attracted and helped to develop 14 new big data enterprises in 2021.
The result came in the wake of Baiyun's efforts to accelerate its digital industrialization and promote the construction and operation of digital content industrial parks and software centers. The district also moved to accelerate the construction of digital economy clusters involving software applications development, online platform operation services, as well as big data and information security services.
In 2021, the operating revenue of the Guiyang Software Park and Digital Content Industry Base in Baiyun reached 1.42 billion yuan ($213.05 million).
During the period, Baiyun drove forwards the deep integration of the real economy and big data in the case of 82 enterprises. It also guided 267 real economy companies to conduct assessments of the deep integration of big data and the real economy.
Additionally, Baiyun achieved the commercialization of 12 research projects and helped implement several corporate plans for high-tech enterprises.
Last year, the number of high-tech enterprises in Baiyun reached 61. The total of resident technology service enterprises above a designated size – companies with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – came in at 13.
In 2021, the operating income of the scientific and technological service industry in Baiyun reached 884 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.8 percent.
