The Guiyang base of Wahaha Group, China's leading food and beverage research and development enterprise, reportedly resumed production as early as the fifth day of the Spring Festival holiday, which fell on Jan 31-Feb 6 this year.

The parent company is headquartered in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province while the Guiyang subsidiary is located in the Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Managers at the Guiyang unit said around 95 percent of staff members had returned to handle the company's ample orders.

The Guiyang operation's output value in 2021 reached 1.19 billion yuan ($178.54 million), hitting a new high. It also paid 140 million yuan in taxes last year, 14.82 million yuan more than in 2020, a contribution which ranked it first among corporate taxpayers in Baiyun district.

In 2021, the Wahaha Guiyang plant implemented key measures, including more energy conservation and cuts in energy consumption. It also introduced cost control and oversaw equipment stability and efficiency gains, in the wake of various innovation and improvement.

It is understood that at present, the plant's 13 production lines have fully resumed operation, laying the foundation for achieving output goals for the current year.
