By the end of 2025, the annual income generated by the tourism sector in the Baiyun district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is expected to exceed 20 billion yuan ($3.01 billion).
The number of overnight tourist visits to Baiyun is projected to top 880,000 by 2025, while the annual added value from tourism and related industries will hit 1.5 billion yuan.
Furthermore, the number of tourism businesses above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – is estimated to top 90 in the district.
Meanwhile, tourist visits to Baiyun during the period are expected to exceed 7.4 million and the income they generate is predicted to be around 8.5 billion yuan, for year-on-year increases of 10 percent and 20 percent, respectively.
To achieve its goals, plans are for Baiyun to undertake measures for optimizing the layout of its tourism resources, upgrading the sector and improving the overall quality of services.
In 2022, Baiyun is expected to introduce three or more online tourism enterprises and advance the construction of tourism villages with regional characteristics.
It will also improve public service facilities such as tourist toilets, parking lots and signage, and work on streamlining the general tourism distribution and operation model.
