Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system.
The district plans to build an electronic information industry belt and three characteristic eco-food bases.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the Baiyun district's GDP exceeded 20 billion yuan ($3.01 billion), with its strategic emerging industrial output accounting for more than 20 percent of its total industrial output.

In the first three months of this year, a total of 37 industrial projects were under construction in the district, and 5 billion yuan in industrial investment is expected to be made throughout the year.
In 2022, the growth rate of Baiyun district's industrial added value is expected to reach 18 percent, and by the end of 2025, its total industrial output value is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan, while the number of industrial enterprises above designated size is expected to exceed 180.
Meanwhile, the proportion of industrial strategic emerging industries is expected to account for 30 percent of the industry, and accumulated completed industrial investment is expected to be more than 42 billion yuan.
