Officials from the Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, formally signed off on nine industrial projects on May 26, involving an investment of 12.68 billion yuan ($1.9 billion).

The projects are in such fields as new energy, environmental protection, the digital economy, the headquarters economy and commercial complexes.

A senior manager of the district said they all have a high technology content, are eco-friendly and will provide good economic and development benefits.

The signing of the projects is expected to accelerate the development of the district's industrial clusters and provide it with support to expand and strengthen the real economy.

One highlight is a clean energy and ecological and environmental protection project being funded by the China Three Gorges Corporation, based in Wuhan city, in Central China's Hubei province.

The total investment of the project will be 5.75 billion yuan, with construction including wind farms and solar power parks.

"Baiyun district has a good industrial foundation and it has location advantages, as well as a good industrial development environment and considerate business services, which make us feel very confident," said Wang Feng, deputy general manager of the China Three Gorges Corporation Guizhou Branch.

Wang said his company would deepen its cooperation with Baiyun in the future and strive to achieve a win-win situation for both the government and the enterprise.

Plans are for Baiyun to innovate its service style and service quality, to make sure that all projects complete their construction and start operating as soon as possible.
