STArtz, the first youth art community in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- officially opened on June 17.
The art community was built at the former site of the Guizhou aluminum plant in Baiyun district. It was designed around the concept of developing the commercialization of tourism there and in-depth exploration of the cultural resources of the former industrial site.
It has introduced the elements of art, culture, fashion and tourism, in a bid to attract more young artistic talent to Baiyun.
Over a three-day period on June 17-19, a number of fun activities were held there to celebrate the opening of the art community. Among them were live music parties, art and design exhibitions, open-air cinemas, skateboarding, hip-hop, drama, dance and talk show performances.
