Strawberry Music Festival comes to Baiyun

The 2022 Guiyang Strawberry Music Festival will be held in Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 6-7.

The Strawberry Music Festival is a music festival brand established by the domestic music label Modern Sky in 2009. This year is the first time it has been held in Baiyun district.

The organizer announced that the 2022 Guiyang Strawberry Music Festival will feature three major performance sections: Strawberry Stage, Love Stage and MSE Stage.

A total of 34 groups of musicians will perform over the course of two days, including popular bands New Pants, Miserable Faith, and Jiulian Zhenren, as well as musicians from Guizhou province, such as Chen Li and Yao Shisan.

The performance venue is located in the Caoguan Chini Yard, which originally belonged to the Guizhou branch of Aluminum Corporation of China.

It was completed and put into use in September 1977 and stopped operating in August 2014 before eventually closing on Jan 11, 2019.

Choosing to hold the music festival at the abandoned site is meant to combine industrial culture with popular culture and add a bit of industrial punk flavor to the 2022 Guiyang Strawberry Music Festival.
