Guizhou's first platform for medical devices, biomaterials established

The Guiyang Medical Device and Biomaterial Industry Technology Innovation Center was granted its nameplate on Aug 12.

The center is located in Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

It was jointly established by Yipin (Guiyang) Quality Technology Co, Guiyang Venture Capital Co, Guiyang Baiyun Industrial Development and Investment Co and the School of Biology and Engineering of Guizhou Medical University, and will be mainly operated by Yipin (Guiyang) Quality Technology Co.

The center aims to build the first open public service platform for medical devices and biomaterials in Guizhou, attract more related companies to Guiyang to work in technology and services, support the successful transformation of more innovative technologies in Guiyang, and promote the rapid development of the mid-to-high-end medical device industry.

The center will focus on key areas such as medical devices, biomaterials, electrical medical equipment, artificial intelligence and medical big data, providing one-stop public services involving R&D outsourcing, inspection and testing, product safety and performance evaluation,  international certification, venture capital services, and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

Additionally, the center will set up an industrial service center, which will provide enterprises with angel venture capital funds, education and training, standard and quality promotion and foreign exchange services.

It strives for a total investment of 100 million yuan within five years and aims to bring in and train 100 professional talents during the same period.
