Baiyun lays out tasks to improve people's livelihoods in 2023

Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, announced tasks to improve people's livelihoods on Feb 15.

The tasks will focus on employment, increasing incomes, education, transportation and living environment.

In terms of employment and income, Baiyun will add 10,000 new urban jobs this year.

The subsidy standard for nursing care of first and second-grade severely-disabled persons will be uniformly raised to 110 yuan per person per month, and the standard for nursing care for third-grade mental and intellectually disabled persons will be raised to 50 yuan per person per month.

Baiyun will also increase the minimum living standard by 20 yuan per month per person for poverty-stricken residents, while that of the extremely poverty-stricken residents shall be increased by not less than 30 yuan per month per person.

In terms of education and transportation, Baiyun will build two new middle schools, two kindergartens and two underground parking lots, add 1,664 new public parking spaces, and implement barrier-free facility renovations on Tongxin Road and other road sections.

To improve the district's living environment, Baiyun plans to build the Shawen domestic waste transfer and sorting center, complete the comprehensive treatment of urban manhole covers, complete the renovation of 22 back streets and alleys, implement the street lamp renovation project at the ninth section of Jianshe South Road, and build three public restrooms.

As for improving the services for the elderly, Baiyun plans to build the Yuncheng Street Elderly Service Center and the Yingbin Community Elderly Service Station.
