Guiyang becomes home to more than 400 big data enterprises in 2022

In 2022, Southwest China's Guizhou province took full advantage of its big data electronic information industry and promoted the construction of a digital economy development innovation area.

Last year, the output and added value of Guizhou's electronic information manufacturing above a designated size increased by 22.1 percent and 37.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.

The business revenue of the software and information service industry increased by 90.5 percent year-on-year in 2022, ranking first in China for 17 months.

The total profits of Guizhou's big data enterprises increased by 64.7 percent year-on-year, while the R&D expenditure increased by 239.2 percent year-on-year in 2022, hitting a record high.

Seven companies including the Global Big Data Exchange in Guiyang were selected as big data industry development demonstration companies of 2022 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with the largest number of companies selected in recent years.

In 2022, Guizhou's investment in fixed assets of communication increased by 24.5 percent year-on-year, ranking first in the country. 5G bases now cover all outdoor areas above township and county levels, and Guiyang and Zunyi were selected as national "gigabit cities".

Last year, Guizhou had 37 key data centers under construction or operation, with a computing capacity of more than 2.25 million servers, ranking among the top in the country.

Guizhou has realized direct connection to the main network across 16 provinces and municipalities. With the rapid construction, Guiyang big data sci-tech innovation city has attracted more than 400 big data companies.

In 2022, Guizhou's total planned investment in big data electronic information projects ranked second among Guizhou's top 10 pillar industries, while paid-up investment ranked third.
