The 2025 Guiyang Baiyun International Kite Festival, National Kite Invitational, and the 16th Baiyun Kite Carnival opened on July 18 at Quanhu Park in Baiyun district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
First launched in 1989, the festival has grown into a signature event, showcasing Baiyun's rich heritage as the "Hometown of Kite Flying in Western China".

This year's opening ceremony comprised an innovative blend of AI and digital technology, featuring Baiyun's image in an immersive 3D interactive display. Visitors enjoyed engaging showcases of local cuisine and scenic attractions, along with curated presentations of four boutique travel routes.
The carnival features 19 cultural, commercial, sports, and tourism events, with highlights like the "coffee in the morning, alcohol at night" market, Guiyang Roadside Concerts, and a dazzling drone light show that showcased Baiyun's vibrant urban spirit.
