At dawn in Baiyun district of Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, the morning clouds awaken, lazy and unhurried. The sky shows a pale glimmer of light, and wisps of thin, translucent clouds drift slowly over the city, moved along inch by inch by the mountain breeze.

Standing on the lawn of Qicaihu Park and looking up, one sees the drifting shadows sweep quietly across the sky, as if someone had dipped a brush in ink and gently blurred the heavens with a stroke of mist. A moment later, the clouds scatter with the wind, leaving only a trace of memory.

In Quanhu Park, the still water reflects the clouds with perfect clarity. On clear days, the sky is mirrored in every delicate ripple, creating the illusion that the clouds themselves are within reach.
